Quayside breakfast at Trizona

We spent some time here at Trizona and breakfast on the Quayside was a delight. The local strawberries were in season. Due to a combination of mixed fruit, yogurt. nuts and local honey together with a delicious cup of real coffee.  A great way to start the day. Consequently a meal in the same Taverna that evening was also a real treat.

Trizona is almost opposite Patras and to get there one can approach from two directions. We had journeyed from the island of Poros. The Corinth canal was ahead of us.. Travelling through the canal is a fascinating experience. There is the odd sensation that the canal slopes down hill. Of course this was due to an optical illusion.

Moving on

Having spent a week just chilling we set sail for the Ionian. The first Island we hit was Kefalonia. It took most of the day to reach. The winds though were steady and as a result we managed an average speed of 6.5 knots. There was a good selection of possible ports to make our first call. We chose Sami and anchored up late that afternoon.

To be honest, breakfast the next morning was had on board. Not as good as breakfast in Trizona maybe, but good enough to start the day. We had plans to re-stock our yacht Inachos and set of in search of a good local supermarket. Spent an hour shopping and returned to Inachos just before lunch . For lunch we had a light salad. Shortly after headed for the beach. The beach was sandy and this is something rear in Greece.

Plans were made for our journey the next day.  We decided that to leave early and make for Fiscardo. Next day was cloudless and warm at 7.00am. Ideal conditions to get up and push on. No breakfast in Trizona that day. Yet another great meal further awaited us in Fiscardo. A genuine Thai restaurant awaited us.
