The Perfect Day began with a hearty breakfast and a quick visit to the local mini market. The weather for the day suggested some good sailing winds that afternoon and so we set off to the neighbouring island and called into this delightful bay for some swimming and a bit later, lunch. We had the bay to ourselves and swam to the beach to explore. Some though took the express dingy service!
Beeches in Greece are mostly pebbly rather than sandy. Therefore when exploring the beech a good pair of swim shoes are a must. They give you flexibility to take on the terrain you will encounter just beyond the beech. We have a selection of different styles and colours on Inachos. So rather than bring your own there are some on board.
We either stay here in the bay longer or go out and sail. This day we decided that as much as they enjoyed sailing they wanted to explore further. Consequently they all disappeared and headed to the next bay on foot. Discovered a small beech Taverna. There they consumed Ice cream and a couple of cold beers. We did manage some sailing later that afternoon.
The wind came at about 2.30pm that day and was a steady F4 as predicted in the weather forecast received earlier that day. We soon hit clear and open water. We hauled the main sail. Switched off the engine. Now the fore sail or genoa. All hands were called to station. Most noteworthy was the enthusiasm shown by the crew. We had full sails out and our speed soon started to pick up. The yacht heeled and we were away. Yes a Perfect Day.
Our Perfect Day was capped with a fabulous night in Kioni. A small and delightful stop over. Plenty to explore.
