..What a holiday, had no wind today. Skipper set off that morning from the island of Kastos to the island of Ithica motoring all the way.
The holiday continued and we arrived at about 1pm and dropped anchor. It was a warm day. It didn’t take more than a few minutes before all were diving, jumping and swimming into the warm crystal clear waters that awaited us. The deserted beach was a big draw.
A few of the more adventurous headed along the beach and found a old goat path. This took them up the the side of the island for an energetic walk/clime for a few hundred meters. The return journey coming down was probably a bit of a challenge. However all enjoyed themselves and consequently were soon back in the water cooling down.
A late lunch followed and then there followed some sunbathing and some more swimming. I think their skipper may have nodded off for while down below in his cabin. We eventually upped anchor and were away to the small harbour town Kioni. Anchored here and took a line ashore.
THE EVENING AHEAD
It was then time for a sundowner before we set off in Lulu (our dingy) to the shore. Most importantly we then searched for a Taverna. Kioni has about half a dozen Tavernas. I have a favourite and therefore we soon settled into our seats at a table edging the quay side. All had a great night.. The cuisine variety and sophistication in Greece will vary. It is important to study the menus. Go inside when invited, as one often is. The food can be seen being prepared. Make up your own mind as to the quality being offered.
